Creamed Corn
I love creamed corn but I am not a fan of canned vegetables and I always had to doctor the corn a little so it would have more flavor. I created this recipe to eliminate the can and make a better version of this great side dish.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter2 tablespoons flour1 cup half and half1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic1 pound frozen corn, thawed
Directions
In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, melt butter. Add flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring until smooth and slightly thickened.
Add half and half, salt, pepper, and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently with a wisk, until sauce has thickened.
Add corn and mix well. Reduce heat to medium low and cook for 20 minutes.
