Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes
Sour cream is the perfect match for potatoes. There are so many possibilities and with the right seasonings you will have the perfect potato dish. I developed this recipe when I wanted to serve mashed potatoes, that would have extra flavor, with a dinner where there wouldn't be a gravy or sauce to complement the potatoes.
Ingredients
3 pounds baby potatoes6 tablespoons butter8 ounces sour cream3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon granulated garlic1 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper1 teaspoon seasoned salt2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
Directions
Wash potatoes, cut in half and place in large sauce pan. Add water until potatoes are covered and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium and cook, covered for 15 minutes, or until potatoes are fork tender. Drain potatoes.
Place potatoes in a large bowl and mash. Add butter, milk, sour cream, garlic, salt and pepper. Mash until the potatoes have a smooth consistency. Add chives and mix well.
