Au Gratin Potatoes
Ingredients
5 large russet potatoes, sliced thin4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons flour
2 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
In a medium sauce pan, over medium heat, melt butter. Add flour and stir with a wisk. Cook for 3 - 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until flour mixture starts to thicken. Add milk, salt, pepper, and granulated garlic. Stir with a wisk. Cook for 5 - 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until sauce starts to thicken. Add cheese. Cook, stirring frequently, until cheese is melted.
In a 13 x 9 baking pan, place a layer of sliced potatoes. Place 1/3 of cheese sauce on top of the potatoes. Repeat layers 2 more times.
Cover pan with foil. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 20 minutes.
