Shrimp in Pink Sauce
I wanted to make a quick dinner so I cheated a little with this recipe by using a jarred sauce as the base. It also is a little bit healthier. Serve it with a side salad or add some baby spinach to the sauce.
Ingredients
3/4 pound penne, cooked
6 ounces tomato paste
6 ounces water
15 ounce jar alfredo sauce
6 ounces milk
6 ounces half and half
1 1/2 pounds 16- 20 shrimp, peeled and deveined
Directions
In a 5 quart saucepan, over medium heat add tomato paste and water to pan. Mix well. Cook for 10 minutes.
Add alfredo sauce, milk, and half and half to pan. Mix well. Cook for 5 minutes.
Add shrimp to pan. Mix well. Cook for 15 minutes or until shrimp is cooked.
Add pasta to pan. Mix until pasta is completely coated with sauce. Reduce heat to medium low. Cook for 10 minutes
