Spaghetti Sauce
Homemade spaghetti sauce is the best. Yes it is a little more work than opening a jar, but when you let it simmer all day with your homemade meatballs, you will be happy you took the time to do it. It smells so good while it's cooking and your family will be anxious for dinner to be served.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 small onion, diced
1 small carrot, minced
3 teaspoons minced garlic
28 ounces crushed tomatoes
28 ounces tomato puree
3 teaspoons salt2 teaspoons ground black pepper2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
Directions
In 5 quart sauce pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion, carrot, and garlic. Mix and cook for 5 minutes.
Add tomatoes, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
