Turkey Pot Pie
This is the perfect one dish meal to make when you have leftover turkey. Many people cook turkey only once or twice a year, so along with having a great comfort food meal, it is also a special meal.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons butter
1 cup onion, cut into bite size pieces
2 cups celery, cut into 1/4 inch slices
2 cups carrots, cut into 1/4 inch slices3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 tablespoon poultry seasoning
4 cups turkey broth
3 cups cooked turky breast
1 cup peas1/2 cup whole milk
8 biscuits, uncooked
Directions
In a large saute pan, heat butter over medium high heat. Add onions, celery and carrots. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add flour and mix until all of the vegetables are coated. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 3 - 4 minutes.
Add salt, poultry seasoning, and turkey broth. Mix well. Cook for 5 minutes until sauce is slightly thickened.
Add turkey and peas. Mix well. Place turkey mixture in a 13 x 9 baking dish. Place biscuits on top. Bake at 400 for 10 - 13 minutes or until biscuits are done.
Notes:
You can substitute chicken for turkey.
