Shepard's Pie
One day my husband asked why I never make Shepard's Pie. My answer was that I really didn't know what it is and I never had it when I was growing up. He told me how is mother made it and I gave it a try. I modified her recipe a little and this is the final result.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 pound lean ground beef10 ounces frozen corn, thawed
2 teaspoons salt1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon granulated garlic3 cups mashed potatoes
sweet paprika
Directions
In a large saute pan, over medium heat, heat oil. Add onions to pan. Cook for 5 minutes. Add ground beef to pan, breaking hamburg up with a spoon, until browned and crumbled.
Add corn, salt, pepper and garlic to ground beef. Mix well. Cook for 3 - 4 minutes.
Place ground beef mixture in a baking dish. Cover ground beef with mashed potatoes. Sprinkle paprika on top of potatoes.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
