Hamburger Stroganoff
There was a time when I needed to prepare soft food. I really want Beef Stroganoff but wasn't able to chew beef so I used hamburger instead. It was just as good and prep time is shorter so it is a great one dish meal to make after a long day.
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup beef broth1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon pepper1 cup sour cream
8 ounces egg noodles
Directions
In a large saute pan, over medium heat, cook hamburg, mushrooms and onions. Cook, breaking hamburg up with a spoon, until browned and crumbled.
Sprinkle flour over hamburg mixture and stir until flour is completely blended in.
Add broth, salt and pepper. Mix well. Reduce heat to medium low and cook for 5 minutes.
Add sour cream to hamburg mixture. Mix well.
Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain. Add to hamburg mixture and mix until noodle are completely coated with sauce. Cover and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
