Beef Fried Rice
This recipe could be a side dish or a complete meal and it is great as leftovers. The nutrition information is based on a main dish serving.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons oyster sauce
4 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons minced garlic
14 ounces shaved steak
1 1/2 cups long grain white rice
3 cups water
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 small onion, chopped
6 ounces broccoli slaw
3 ounces shredded carrots
1 cup bean sprouts
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
3 tablespoons soy sauce
4 scallions, chopped
Directions
In a medium bow, add oyster sauce, soy suace, and garlic. Mix well. Add shaved steak and mix until steak is completely coated. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
In a medium sauce pan, bring water to a boil. Add rice to pan, reduce heat to medium low, cover and cook for 20 minutes. Chill rice for at least 2 hours.
In a large saute pan, heat oil over medium high heat. Add onion, broccoli slaw, carrots and bean sprouts to pan. Cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes. Add steak to pan. Cook, stirring frequenntly for 5 minutes. Vegetables should be cooked but still a little crunchy.
Add rice to pan. Mix until rice is completely combined with vegetables and steak. Add garlic, salt, soy sauce, and scallions to pan. Mix well. Cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes. Rice should be lightly browned.
