Buffalo Pizza Dip
I created a spicy pizza sauce by combining spaghetti sauce and buffalo sauce and I thought it wound be fun to spice up my pizza dip and make something that is different from the traditional buffalo chicken dip. You could spice it up a little more by using hot Italian sausage.
Ingredients
2 pounds ground sweet Italian sausage8 ounces sliced pepperoni14 ounce jar pizza sauce16 ounces light cream cheese4 ounces ranch dressing
12 ounces buffalo wing sauce1 red pepper, chopped1 green pepper, chopped1 medium onion, chopped2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
In a large saucepan, over medium high heat, cook sausage and pepperoni until sausage is browned and crumbled.
Reduce heat to medium. Add spaghetti sauce, stir well and cook for 5 minutes. Put sausage and sauce mixture in a food processor and process for 30 seconds or until it has an even consistency.
Return mixture to saucepan, on medium low heat. Add all remaining ingredients, except the cheddar cheese. Stir well and cook for 15 minutes.
Add cheddar cheese and stir well. Cook for 10 – 15 minutes.
Serve with tortilla chips.
