Sausage Stuffing Balls
Sausage stuffing is one of my favorite Thanksgiving dishes so I developed this appetizer version of my stuffing recipe. It has so mush flavor and is even better if you have gravy as a dipping sauce.
Ingredients
6 tablespoons butter
1 sweet onion, diced1 pound pork sausage roll
2 tablespoon poultry seasoning3 1/2 cups chicken broth24 ounces cubed bread stuffing mix1 cup water
2 eggs, beaten
Directions
In a large sauce pan, over medium heat, melt butter. Add onions. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions are translucent. Add pork sausage, breaking up meat with a spoon until meat is browned and finely crumbled.
Add poultry seasoning and chicken broth. Mix well. Turn heat to high and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat, add stuffing mix and mix until bread is no longer dry. Add water as needed to moisten stuffing. Cover and let stand for 30 minutes.
Add eggs to stuffing. Mix well. Shape stuffing into 1 1/2 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Serve with chicken or turkey gravy for dipping.
